ANNA HAZARE LATEST NEWS UPDATE | LOK PAL BILL LATEST UPDATES

On a day when he was denied permission to hold fast over the Lokpal Bill, Gandhian activist Anna Hazare, in a symbolic move, on Monday went to Rajghat and sat close to Bapu’s samadhi.

Reports said Anna is accompanied by more than 200 people, including his close associates Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sesodia. Anna said that he will not speak anything for now. Currently, he is meditating close to Bapu's samadhi.
The move has fuelled speculation as to whether Anna has chosen Mahatma Gandhi’s samadhi as his venue to sit on indefinite fast against the government’s draft Lokpal Bill.

Earlier today the Delhi Police rejected an undertaking submitted by Team Anna to sit on fast tomorrow at Jai Prakash Narain Memorial Park in central Delhi.

The permission to sit on fast at the park was denied after the civil society group agreed to accept only 16 of the total 22 conditions set by the Delhi Police.

Speaking to Zee News, Special Commissioner of Police, Dharmendra Prakash said that Section 144 will be imposed in the area surrounding the park and that no one would be allowed to enter the venue. He categorically stated that Hazare could be arrested if he tries to enter the park.

Anna’s latest move has come as a surprise to everyone because while reacting to the Delhi Police’s decision to deny them permission to hold fast at JP Park, Team Anna member Kiran Bedi had told Zee News that they would decide on the future course of action tomorrow.

Arvind Kejriwal, another member of the civil society team, had said they would go ahead with the fast tomorrow and court arrest if necessary.
