A major decision before SGPC poll, Dr Gurnek Singh, a former head of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Studies, Punjabi University, Patiala, was appointed acting Vice- Chancellor of Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib, today.
Dr Gurnek Singh is the author of “Sri Guru Granth Sahib: Interpretations, Meaning and Nature” and has written five more books on various religious aspects of Sikh history. In an interview, Dr Gurnek Singh said his immediate priority would be to streamline the functioning of the university and boost the morale of his staff.

He refused to comment on his predecessor Dr Jasbir Singh Ahluwalia’s style of functioning, maintaining that he would rather focus on his own job.
