One of the newest attractions is Diamond Island, located in Phnom Penh. It’s the Santa Monica Pier in California and/or Coney Island in New York of Cambodia. Families, couples, and teenagers flock to this beautiful spot by the waterfront. With amusement rides, peanuts, candies, and drinks available, Diamond Island is a fun place for the whole family to be. Built in 2006, by Overseas Cambodia Investment Corporation, Diamond Island is still under construction, with plans for a hospital, restaurants, shopping center, park, and series of homes ranging from $280,000 to a million. Located along the city’s Tonle Bassac riverside, the Diamond Island Convention Exhibition Centre is part of a $200 million development, scheduled to open in 2016.
