You had me at "with means'

Inquiring minds want to know.....

 We've been recently advices b an acquaintance that we need to lower our standards.  the exact line was: "He had an ugly face, but you known we're n our forties now so we have to lower our standards, so I went out with him"  (You'll be happy to know that Mr. "Ugly Face" promptly dumped Mr. lonely hearts after two dates for being lousy in bed). It got me to ruminating.  I'm turning 45 next month and it's not the first time I've heard such from other men in their forties, usually from those who've let themselves go and no longer care about working out. 

I'm in the best physical shape I've ever been in and slowly progressing towards stage competition.  I'd like to get a little back of what I'm using as bait!

Has anyone had any luck with lowering their standards?

It's Ash Wednesday, What are you giving up for Lent?

I'm giving up dating bears and betting on the ponies.

Aah who am I kidding, I can't give up playing the ponies.

Now that I have some time to date...

So I'm taking a week off from the gym to rest and recalibrate. I'm sure my rotator cuffs are in bliss right as a result. This has created some free time in my schedule which would theoretically allow for some social activities. Combine this new free time with the fact that since I am not training everyday I can also allow myself to imbibe, the only thing missing from a few casual dates are the dates themselves. So help spread the word folks, I am available for a limited time only.

So, the Boston Globe published an article today listing eight dates under $40. Maybe it's a slow news day what with only the economy, war and new Presidential administration to report on.
