In Chess Championship Himal, Piyush enter third round -Chandigarh

Himal Gosain, Piyush Manuja, Pardeep Negi, Aimranjeet and Arunima have entered the third round of the Chandigarh U-13 (boys and girls) and U-25 Youth Chess Championship being held at St Xavier’s School, Sector 44, here.

A total of five rounds will be played in both the categories. Fifty seven players are competing for the top positions in the tournament being organised by the Chandigarh Chess Association.

Two boys in U-25 category and two boys and two girls in U-13 category will be selected to represent the city in the nationals to be held at Indore (U-25) from August 21 to 26 and Delhi (U-13) from October 2 to 11, 2011.

Points position (U-13 category): 1 point: Tarini Goyal ; Anubhav Tuknayat; Jaskeerat Singh; Abhiroop Kaul; Amartya Bhattacharya; Anindya Trehan; Archit Gupta; Brahmjot; Gauri; Inayat Kaur; Jashan Khurana; Jashan Singh; Jayesh ; Manish Mandal and Rishab Jain; ½ points: Gursahib Singh Shaurya.
