law of investment in cambodia

As the Royal Government of Cambodia has been amending the law of investment and offering generous incentive for Foreign Direct Investment and the preparation of enforcement of commercial count law as well as the stability of Cambodian political status in the year ahead, Cambodia's economic continue to grow significantly. Along with RGC, private sector must play a vital role in pushing the economic growth for the country. Being the representative of Cambodia private sector, Phnom Penh Chamber of Commerce (PPCC) has always been providing the business community a number of services such as business information, consultancy, training, seminar, arbitration, trade workshops and investment cooperation. With successful work done in assuring its providing services, Phnom Penh chamber of Commerce has become a member of EAN-UCC Systems and has then established GS1 Cambodia which is a non-profit making organization to beresponsible for allocating bar code to all member in Cambodia. This bar code will be for identifying the company whose product was produced and exchanging information between companies themselves. PPCC continues to collaborate with the GMS countries, Asian member countries, International Federation of Chamber of Commerce and Industry, International Organization and with other countries by signing MOU, long term agreement and so on to exchange experiences and seek possibility for partnership in term of long run business success. We have in mind the development of SME which is considered a key business factor for all countries in the world that employs more than 80% of the overall employment.

As we are aware that the acceleration of economic growth is due to a huge contribution of private sector, the private sector itself must have in place adequate resources to secure this acceleration going on in a predictable pace. These range among the priority which PPCC has set ofr its future goal to achieve.

In collaboration with PrintSoluce Co. Ltd., Business Directory 2004 has been published to increase a potential join venture in the business community by offering some practical advice for successfully conducting business in Cambodia.

With the list of leading companies in Cambodia at your finger tip, I strongly believe that this publication will contribute significantly to the continuing endeavors to accelerate economic and investment cooperation between Cambodia and the rest of the world.

The PPCC has a great honor to welcome you for information you may require and wish you all success.
