PUNJAB TO APPOINT 4500 HEADMASTERS SOON


 Punjab Education Department will soon issue appointment letters to 4500 headmasters selected by the departmental selection committee to fill the vacant posts.

Talking to reporters,Education Minister Sewa Singh Sekhwan said that the new education policy would be implemented within next six months as the education reforms committee is likely to submit its report in the next six months.

The Punjab government had constituted a committee under the chairmanship of former vice chancellor S P Singh to frame the new education policy for the next 25 years and the said committee is likely to submit its report within next six months.

The Minister said the new syllabus consisting of moral education as a compulsory subject would be implemented on the recommendations of the three-member committee constituted by the government to frame the new syllabus for the schools. He claimed that the new syllabus would compete with the syllabus of CBSE and ICSE boards.

The Minister claimed that the department was able to check the menace of mass copying in the exams during this academic session and said more steps would be taken to check this menace more effectively. He appealed to the teachers, students and parents to cooperate with the government in the tree plantation drive during the monsoon season in which more than one crore saplings would be planted in the premises of the schools in the state.
