All Games Are Now Life Or Death

Paraguay coach Gerardo Martino is desperate for his side to qualify for the second round of the World Cup, whether it is in first or second place in Group F.

"Now the life or death games are beginning", the Argentine born trainer told journalists in Tuesday's press conference. Martino also stated that he didn't care one bit if his side achieved it in first or second place- as long as they make it. The Paraguay side took a massive step towards the second round after drawing 1-1 with World Champions, Marcelo Lippi's Italy. With other group sides Slovakia and New Zealand also tieing the group is deadlocked, which means that any team has a chance going into the final two games.

And while the Italians will still be considered favourites to go through in first place the Guaranies' spirited display means that they have an excellent chance of joining the Azzurri in the second round.
