Of all the candidates who figure to drop off a resume with Lancers director of athletics Gord Grace, none will fill the pages with credentials anywhere near equal to the career Etcheverry has assembled. He was head coach of the Toronto Argonauts in 2002. Five years earlier, as defensive line coach with the Boatmen, he won a Grey Cup. He served as an assistant coach with the NFL’s Los Angeles Rams. He’s coached in Europe. He coached NCAA football for 16 years with Division I, II and III programs. At San Francisco State, he worked on the same staff with Mike Holmgren.
